Summer contructions projects continue

This week's expected impacts for September 25th – October 2nd:

Crews will be working around the mountain throughout the weekend and into next week. Thank you for your patience with our mountain projects this summer and fall.

  • The Supreme lift line remains closed—crews will begin loading chairs onto the haul rope this weekend
  • The Transfer Tow is closed from the Town Park to the Jump Hill—hikers can follow the Lower Albion Meadows trail detour between Albion and Wildcat base areas
  • Utility connection trench work is underway in the Albion parking lot—please follow the Albion parking lot reroutes

Supreme Lift Realignment

The United States Forest Service has authorized Alta Ski Area to modify the alignment of the existing Supreme lift. The top and bottom terminals were pivoted and lift towers were installed along the new lift line. Line work will continue through the end of September. The lift is expected to open for Alta's 2025–26 ski season.

September 25th update: The haul rope was spliced and work continues on the Supreme lift. Crews will begin loading chairs onto the haul rope this weekend.

  • A Supreme lift load test is scheduled for October 8th and 9th
  • Please respect the closures and avoid the Supreme lift construction zones at all times

Hiking & Trail Closures

We are anticipating temporary trail closures this fall due to ongoing construction projects.

September 25th update: Supreme cable splicing work has been completed and adjacent trails and roads have reopened.

  • The Transfer Tow remains closed from the Town Park to the Jump Hill intersection of Lower Albion Meadows and Snake Pit—hikers can follow the Transfer Tow to Lower Albion Meadows trail to access Albion and Wildcat base areas
  • Please follow the Upper Albion Meadows detour around the Supreme lift construction
  • Please follow the detour trail to access the Town Park from the Wildcat base area

Snowmaking Lines Along the Transfer Tow

Snowmaking lines are being upgraded along the Transfer Tow between Wildcat and Albion base areas. The Transfer Tow is currently closed between the Town Park and Albion Day Lodge.

September 25th update: Crews have installed the final large-diameter snowmaking pipes and backfilling is underway.

  • The Transfer Tow remains closed from the Town Park to the Jump Hill
  • Please respect these closures and do not duck ropes or hike off-trail

Albion Day Lodge Expansion & Storage Facility

The Albion base area is home to the Albion Day Lodge expansion project and the construction of a new storage facility on the north side of the Albion parking lot. The Albion parking lot will be impacted by multiple construction projects. The east end of the Albion parking lot will remain closed this fall

September 25th update: Crews will be working on the Albion Day Lodge expansion project and the storage facility in the Albion parking lot. Follow Albion parking lot reroutes as utility connection trench work is underway in the Albion parking lot.

  • Please park in the west end of the Albion parking lot and watch for heavy machinery
